T8 Lighting

T8 Flourescent Tubes are the traditional method used to light aquariums. They are available from a number of different manufacturers, in a number of different colour ranges that can be tailored to your aquarium's requirements. To use a T8 Flourescent Tube, you need to use an electronic controller (ballast) which provides the power to the tube, which is usually held in place within your aquarium hood using plastic clips. Adding reflectors ensures that you all of the light generated by the tube is directed down in to the aquarium, so they're highly recommended.
